1. Giving Back
It's deeply important to us that our retreats don't just allow us to experience beautiful places, but also give back to the communities that welcome us in.
A portion of the proceeds from this retreat will be donated to Project Soar, a Morocco-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering adolescent girls and young women through education, leadership development, and life skills programs.
2. Arrive Early If You Can
We recommend arriving 1-2 days early to rest, adjust to the time zone, and buffer against any travel delays.
3. Expect a Little Culture Shock
Morocco is vibrant, sensory-rich, and unlike anywhere else. The magic happens when you stop trying to control the experience and allow yourself to be immersed in it.
4. Pack Light
Leave room in your suitcase. Morocco is famous for its rugs, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, leather goods, and countless treasures you'll want to bring home.
5. Haggling Is Normal
Negotiating prices in the souks is part of the culture. Approach it with curiosity, confidence, and a smile.
6. Two Retreats in One
We'll spend four nights in the heart of Marrakech and two nights in the Agafay Desert, giving you two completely different experiences of Morocco.
7. Budget for Tips
Tipping is customary and appreciated throughout Morocco. We recommend bringing some cash for guides, drivers, spa therapists, and service staff.
8. Don't Skip the Hammam
Moroccan hammams and spa rituals are a cultural experience in themselves. Treat yourself if you can.
9. Mindful Drinking Welcome
This is an adventure and cultural retreat. Alcohol is not included, but you're welcome to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner or during your free time if you'd like.
10. Let Life Surprise You
The best moments in Morocco are often the ones you can't plan for. Come with an open mind, a curious heart, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected.
