10 Things to know
1. Giving Back
It’s deeply important to us that our retreats not only allow us to experience beautiful places, but also give back to the communities that welcome us. A portion of the proceeds from this retreat will be donated to the Sacred Valley Project, an incredible organization supporting young girls from remote Andean communities with access to education, housing, and opportunity.
2. The Journey is Part of the Experience
Traveling through Peru takes time, from winding mountain roads to scenic train rides to Machu Picchu. Whether it’s getting from Cusco to the Sacred Valley or journeying to ancient sites, the movement itself is part of the magic.
3. Getting to Cusco + Arrival
You’ll fly into Cusco (CUZ), where we’ll coordinate pickups from both the airport and Cusco city. From there, we’ll guide you into the Sacred Valley. We highly recommend arriving at least 1–2 days early if possible to rest, settle in, and ease into the altitude.
4. Altitude is Real
Cusco and the Sacred Valley sit at high elevation, and it’s normal for your body to need time to adjust. We’ll guide you with tips to support acclimation, but the most important things are to go slow, hydrate, and listen to your body.
5. Extend Your Stay
If your schedule allows, we highly recommend extending your trip! Peru has so much to offer beyond the retreat, from Lima’s food scene to the Amazon, the desert oasis of Huacachina, and deeper exploration of the Sacred Valley.
6. Pack Layers
Mountain weather shifts throughout the day. Mornings and evenings can be cool, while midday is often warm and sunny. Bring layers so you can stay comfortable and grounded in your body.
7. Sacred Land & Andean Culture
The Sacred Valley is exactly that, sacred. This land has been honored for centuries by Indigenous Andean communities as a place of deep spiritual connection, ceremony, and reverence for Pachamama (Mother Earth). You’ll feel it the moment you arrive.
8. Bring Some Cash
While many places accept cards, smaller shops, markets, tips, and local experiences are often cash-based. We recommend carrying Peruvian soles with you for ease.
9. Limited WiFi = Deeper Presence
WiFi can be slower or limited, especially in the Sacred Valley and during excursions. We recommend downloading podcasts, playlists, or anything you may want ahead of time, and also embracing the opportunity to unplug.
10. Alcohol-Free Retreat Space
This is an alcohol-free retreat designed to support clarity, presence, nervous system regulation, and deeper connection, to yourself, the group, and the land.
